A Catalyst for Change

Dear Friend of the Foundation,

You may have noticed we refreshed the Foundation’s brand with a new logo and tagline, and new designs for many of our materials and outreach efforts. Our newly refreshed brand represents the Foundation’s forward movement in the areas where we know strategic philanthropy can be a catalyst for change.

For the past few years, we have led efforts to grow local giving and build nonprofit capacity, close gender and racial gaps in access to higher education, strengthen the food system that feeds our region, and foster a vibrant creative ecosystem.  Alongside our fundholders and our community partners, our leadership in these areas—our four Strategic Initiatives—reflects the Foundation’s vision for a flourishing Sacramento region, one marked by inclusivity and equitable opportunities for all.

Our refreshed brand identity expresses these same ideals.

Through our strategic leadership and partnerships, we are a catalyst for change in the community.

Learn about our mission

While we have a new look, you can count on the Foundation to continue its role as the Sacramento region’s trusted steward of local philanthropy, as it has been since 1983. We partner with people who care to transform the capital area for good, for all. But the challenges we address through our work are complex, and tackling them in ways that make meaningful impact requires the vision to spark action and the commitment to sustain it.

As we continue to foster a vibrant and thriving capital area, through leadership and collaboration, we look forward to communicating the impact of our work with you in ways that are familiar—and in some ways that are new.

Please look for our new magazine, Impact, in your mailbox; as an expression of the Foundation’s commitment to inspire philanthropy, this new publication is intended to highlight stories of the impact of strategic giving and share important lessons and insights we derive from our work in the community. To ensure you are on our magazine’s mailing list, please contact our Donor Engagement team.

Please also sign up for our monthly e-newsletter, and consider following the Foundation on social media, which you can find linked at the bottom of this page.

We are confident you will be inspired by the ways we partner with community leaders, highly effective organizations, and generous people like you to foster a vibrant and thriving capital area for all who live here.

P.S. As we bid a fond farewell to the Foundation’s most recent logo, we carry forward what has always marked the Foundation's role in the Sacramento region – sound business practices, robust partnerships, meaningful place-based impact – and we remain grateful to all who have supported our work in the capital area over the past 35 years. Thank you!

By focusing on the root causes of local challenges, seeking solutions with long-term results, and supporting the organizations that tend to the vital needs of the capital area, we help create the conditions for meaningful transformation in the Sacramento region.
