Our Region's Story of Human Trafficking

Efforts to address the growing tide of human trafficking in our region are being tested by an increase in trafficked minors, which is making Sacramento one of the largest geographic hubs for this crime. Together with our fundholders, we gain a stronger understanding of issues surrounding this problem, and heard from experts crafting innovative approaches to reduce it, including:

  • Sarah Chaffin, M.D., Human Trafficking Response, Dignity Health
  • Beth Hassett, Executive Director, WEAVE
  • Bob Herne, Chief Executive Officer, Sierra Forever Families
  • Sonia Satchell, Deputy District Attorney, Sacramento District Attorney’s Office

  • John Sydow, Detective, Sacramento Sheriff’s Department Special Investigations Intelligence Bureau, Human Trafficking Unit
After the presentation, fundholders continued the conversation with panelists.
