Jerrold B. Whitney/Clayton Pinkerton Fund

Bay Area artist and teacher Clayton Pinkerton established a fund in memory of his longtime partner, Jerrold Whitney, who had a great love of books. Mr. Pinkerton made a generous provision for the fund in his trust, and the endowment created for the Jerrold B. Whitney/Clayton Pinkerton Fund awards grants each year to public and school libraries for the purchase of books. Specifically, funds may be used to purchase works along the following genres:

  • Nonfiction
  • Biographies
  • History
  • Arts
  • Humanities

In an increasingly digital age, the Fund helps to pass along Jerrold’s love of books to new generations of readers.
