Our region’s needs are evolving. Many of the people best equipped to support our community are the teams at organizations like yours. To ensure the strength and longevity of our nonprofit sector, we offer an array of different capacity-building opportunities — including Big Day of Giving, which has supported local organizations to raise more than $91 million in unrestricted funding since 2013.

How does my nonprofit attract funding from you?

As a community foundation, the Sacramento Region Community Foundation differs from private foundations that solely make decisions about which nonprofits receive funding. The majority of our grants are directed by individuals, families, and businesses that hold charitable funds at the Sacramento Region Community Foundation or Yolo Community Foundation. The key to attracting these grants lies with you building relationships with donors, engaging them with your work, and inspiring them to give from their charitable funds at the Foundation. Nonprofits also receive funding through the Foundation’s impact initiatives.

To stay engaged, we encourage you to:

  • Create a profile on GivingEdge: To receive grants from the Sacramento Region Community Foundation and to be eligible to participate in Big Day of Giving, you will need to establish a GivingEdge profile.
  • Join our grants registry: Please see our grants calendar or sign up for our grants registry to receive alerts.
  • Keep us informed about your work: Send our team your newsletters, invite us on site tours, and educate us about your important programs and events. The more informed we are about your impact in the community, the better we can support you!

What is the process to access grants disbursed by eCheck?

We occasionally use Deluxe eChecks, a fast and secure method to disburse grants from our charitable funds and gifts received on GivingEdge. Not only does option save paper, materials, and transportation emissions, eChecks also allow our team to process checks and grant letters more efficiently, getting your organization its funds sooner! The process is as simple as:

  1. Receive eCheck: We email the eCheck to the email address for your organization in our records. If your nonprofit has an active GivingEdge profile, we use the email address listed in its Disbursement Settings. If you’d like a check reissued to a new contact, contact our team.
  2. Print & Deposit: You receive an email from app@echecks.com which includes a link to access the eCheck. Create or log in to your Deluxe account to print and sign the eCheck. The eCheck can then be brought to your bank (recommended) or deposited remotely. If you do not receive the emailed eCheck, please check your Spam/Junk folder; if you are still unable to locate it, contact us.
  3. Save Grant Letter: Separately, we email a grant letter alerting you of the award and additional relevant information, which you should keep for your records.

We understand you may have questions about this process. While no payment method is 100% safe from fraud, Deluxe eChecks uses limited touchpoints, secure, online retrieval, and verification in a secure online database to ensure eChecks are one of the most secure payment methods on the market. For additional questions, Deluxe eChecks offers the following FAQ links:

If your bank has questions about eChecks, you can inform them that the check was printed from an authorized check record and is not a Check 21 Image Replacement Document. The details (pay to, amount, routing/account number) and authenticity of this check can be verified by visiting www.echecks.com/verify. Answers to additional questions about eCheck can be obtained by calling 877-333-6964.
