Whitney Pinkerton Fund

The Sacramento Region Community Foundation is pleased to announce the release of a mini-grant program for the region's public, private, and school (K-12) libraries. The Jerrold B. Whitney/Clayton Pinkerton Fund awards grants of up to $750 to add books to libraries' general or special collections. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, proposals for e-books are also welcomed.

Specifically, funds may be used to purchase works in the following genres:

  • Nonfiction
  • Biographies
  • History
  • Arts
  • Humanities

Funds may not be used for any other purposes or genres and may not be used to purchase text books or books for specific classes.

To be eligible for consideration, organizations must:

  • Be located in El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, and/or Yolo counties.
  • Be considered a 501(c)(3) public charity, 501(c)(3) private operating foundation or be fiscally-sponsored by an organization that meets this requirement
