Building strong community organizations
The Foundation’s highest mission is to support a vibrant nonprofit community. While we do this in many ways, one of the most enduring is that we offer an easy path for forward-thinking organizations to create an endowment of their own.
Endowed funds support nonprofits not just for one year, or even one generation, but forever. Nonprofit organizations with the vision and leadership to establish an endowment are securing their ability to operate well into the future.
When you open an endowment, you are using your organization's resources wisely by focusing on your nonprofit's core mission while relying on our track record of sound investment management to ensure that its funds continue to grow and create a stable source of income for the future.
We were looking for a way to create a long-term revenue stream to support our mission, but managing our own investments was unrealistic. Our board and staff were impressed with the investment expertise at the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. The process of establishing the endowment was painless, and the online donor management tools make it easy for us to keep track of our fund balance and growth so we can focus on our work on behalf of people with disabilities.
– Tricia Ciampa, Executive Director, Pride Industries Foundation
The Foundation manages endowments for over 80 different organizations throughout the region with a range of purposes – from Davis Senior Services and River City Food Bank to Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus and the Junior League of Sacramento. We applaud the foresight of our nonprofit endowment partners and their vision in offering donors a way to support the organizations they care about well beyond their lifetimes.
"When our board of directors decided to place our new endowment at the Foundation, it was a business decision based upon trust, community presence, and the fact that we shared the goal of making our region a better place."
– Ray Tretheway, Executive Director, Sacramento Tree Foundation
