As the Senior Director of Communications, Vasey Coman shapes and shares the Sacramento Region Community Foundation’s story. She increases awareness of the Foundation’s mission, services, and programs in order to inspire local, impactful philanthropy — and, consequently, foster a more just and vibrant Sacramento region.
Before joining the Foundation in 2015, Vasey worked at Women’s Empowerment, a Sacramento-based nonprofit serving women and children experiencing homelessness. She’s also worked at an intellectual property law firm, a public library, two career services offices, a pizza parlor, and her hometown newspaper, The Winters Express.
In 2019, she was named the California Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America’s Young Distinguished Influencer for her work on Big Day of Giving. In 2024, she was recognized as one of Sacramento Business Journal’s 40 Under 40.
A Yolo County native, Vasey serves on the Board of Directors of the Winters Education Foundation and volunteers for a number of nonprofits serving the capital area. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from Bates College, where she graduated with honors, and a master’s degree in Education, Culture & Society from the University of Pennsylvania.
