As Chief Executive Officer at the Sacramento Region Community Foundation since 2022, Kerry Wood oversees all aspects of the Foundation\u2019s work to inspire charitable giving in the capital area through its philanthropic services and impact initiatives, including its well-known program, Big Day of Giving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before joining the Foundation as its Chief Marketing & Donor Engagement Officer in 2018, Kerry was Director of Advancement for the Crocker Art Museum<\/a> and Vice President of Resource Development and Communications for the Foundation for California Community Colleges<\/a>. At the latter, she led the three-year, statewide Osher Initiative for California Community College Students fundraising campaign, which raised nearly $100 million, resulting in the largest endowment for community college student scholarships in the nation. Kerry also served with Mercy Foundation<\/a> as Development and Marketing Director. For 25 years, Kerry has dedicated her career to the nonprofit sector for the benefit of the Sacramento region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fall 2011, she was named \u201cOutstanding Fundraising Professional of the Year\u201d by the\u00a0Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), California Capital Chapter<\/a>, as part of National Philanthropy Day. In 2025 and 2026,\u00a0Kerry\u00a0was recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal (SBJ) as one of the Power 100, the region\u2019s most influential leaders impacting the economy and business. She was also honored by the SBJ as a Woman Who Means Business awardee in 2025.\u00a0Kerry\u00a0currently serves on the board and Executive Committee of\u00a0Valley Vision<\/a>\u00a0and the Rotary Club of Sacramento as Immediate Past President. She has served on numerous other nonprofit boards in her career, and she is an American Leadership Forum Fellow, Class XXIV.\u00a0Kerry\u00a0holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business marketing and two Master of Arts degrees in communication studies and higher education leadership, all from\u00a0California State University, Sacramento<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
