Review Scholarship Applications

Education has the power to transform lives. Become a scholarship evaluator and help students receive funding to pursue their academic goals.

As a reviewer, you’ll read applications, assess them based on provided criteria, and participate in selection committee discussions. Your insights will help elevate determined, talented students working toward bright futures — and uphold the wishes of the local donors who fund these scholarships

  • Time commitment: Varies by scholarship program. It may take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours to read and score applications online, varying based on the number of applications assigned, and you will be invited to attend a separate 1 hour selection committee meeting.
  • Timeline: Reviews are typically conducted in the spring months, with awards announced in June.

Review Grant Applications

Help direct funding toward nonprofits doing vital work in our region by volunteering to review grant applications. You’ll support efforts to make strategic, equitable funding decisions that strengthen local communities.

Our grant reviewers evaluate proposals from nonprofits and community groups to identify opportunities that best align with the goals of specific funding programs. 📽️ Watch the grant reviewer orientation.

What You’ll Need to Know

We prioritize transparency, fairness, and ethical conduct throughout scholarship and grant application review processes.

Volunteers are selected based on relevant experience, a commitment to equity, and an ability to evaluate applications thoughtfully and objectively. All reviewers receive training, support, and clear criteria to guide their evaluations. We also work to prevent conflicts of interest and ensure decisions are made in accordance with legal requirements and donor intent.
