Caroline first connected with the Sacramento Region Community Foundation during her estate planning process. What began as a formal task quickly turned into a meaningful relationship.
As Caroline explored her giving options, she was inspired by Sacramento’s rich nonprofit landscape and the opportunity to create positive change. That’s when she decided to establish a Legacy Fund and ensure her charitable impact extends far beyond her lifetime. “Sacramento is home to so many nonprofits doing great work. I love knowing there’s an organization that supports them and the donors who care about their missions,” she explains.
By setting up a Legacy Fund, Caroline feels confident that her contributions will continue to support the causes she’s passionate about, even if specific organizations change or cease to exist in the future. “The Foundation has programs in place to make sure that, no matter what, my gifts will still be used to further my charitable impact in the community.”
Beyond planning for the future, her Legacy Fund serves as a constant reminder of her values and commitment to giving. “What I appreciate most is that my Legacy Fund keeps me connected to the causes I care about now. It’s like a touchstone — something that grounds me and reminds me I have something in place to benefit this community.”
Caroline’s commitment to philanthropy has deepened over the years, thanks in part to her volunteer work with local nonprofits like Women’s Empowerment. “When I moved to Sacramento, I found out about Women’s Empowerment and have been fortunate enough to volunteer with them. Their mission of helping women and children experiencing homelessness is something I feel strongly about. Their work continues to be a source of inspiration and optimism for me.”
Working with the Foundation has made the entire process smooth and reassuring. “I love how easy it was to set up my Legacy Fund. The staff really took the time to listen and understand what I wanted to achieve. There’s great comfort in knowing everything is in place and handled by people I trust.”
