If you’d like to learn more about our efforts to strengthen the Sacramento region’s social sector and advance equity-focused solutions, we invite you to connect with us.

Our team is also available to speak with associations, businesses, and community groups about giving trends, nonprofit impact, and the role of generosity in shaping our region.

How does my nonprofit attract funding from you?

As a community foundation, the Sacramento Region Community Foundation differs from private foundations that solely make decisions about which nonprofits receive funding. The majority of our grants are directed by individuals, families, and businesses that hold charitable funds at the Sacramento Region Community Foundation or Yolo Community Foundation. The key to attracting these grants lies with you building relationships with donors, engaging them with your work, and inspiring them to give from their charitable funds at the Foundation. Nonprofits also receive funding through the Foundation’s impact initiatives.

To stay engaged, we encourage you to:

  • Create a profile on GivingEdge: To receive grants from the Sacramento Region Community Foundation and to be eligible to participate in Big Day of Giving, you will need to establish a GivingEdge profile.
  • Join our grants registry: Please see our grants calendar or sign up for our grants registry to receive alerts.
  • Keep us informed about your work: Send our team your newsletters, invite us on site tours, and educate us about your important programs and events. The more informed we are about your impact in the community, the better we can support you!
How does my organization open a Nonprofit Fund?

Through a Nonprofit Fund with the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, organizations like yours can set aside funds to create long-term stability, plan for future growth, and add to your credibility with key donors. To learn more about the benefits of partnering with us by opening a Nonprofit Fund, please visit our Nonprofit Funds page.

What is the process to access grants disbursed via Ramp?

We occasionally use a vendor called Ramp to disburse grants via ACH (direct deposit) or mailed checks. When we do, in addition to receiving a grant letter from the Sacramento Region Community Foundation with the details of the award, Ramp will email your designated contact to notify them that payment has been issued, referencing “Sacramento Region Comm. Foundation” and the same grant number mentioned in the grant letter. Please contact our Grants Associate, Rosita Patterson, at rosita@sacregcf.org with any questions.

Who should I contact with a question about GivingEdge?

Please email your question to the GivingEdge team, givingedge@sacregcf.org. Due to the high volume of inquiries regarding GivingEdge and creating a GivingEdge profile, we ask that all questions are sent via email to help us provide faster service.

How can I submit an item to the GivingEdge e-newsletter(s)?

To share opportunities or news with other nonprofit professionals or volunteers via our once-a-month Nonprofit Roundup e-newsletter, please submit items using this form by the first Thursday of the month.

To promote events or volunteer opportunities to donors and community members, please post them on your GivingEdge profile. We reference these opportunities for our once-a-month GivingEdge email to donors who’ve opted in.

Who should I contact with a question about Big Day of Giving?

Start on our page about Big Day of Giving to learn about the annual giving day or visit the website that powers Big Day of Giving. Need more help? Please email your question to the Big Day of Giving team, bdog@sacregcf.org. Due to the high volume of inquiries regarding Big Day of Giving, we ask that all questions are sent via email to help us provide faster service. We are unable to take phone calls from organizations regarding participation.

What resources do you recommend to grantseekers?

We are committed to providing our nonprofit partners with opportunities for continued learning and insights into new technology and resources. (In fact, we think of Big Day of Giving as one huge capacity-building program, in addition to a fundraising challenge!) There are many online resources for nonprofits in everything from proposal writing to board engagement. Among our favorites:

Can I receive feedback on an application I submitted?

Yes, we can offer feedback. Please email us at grants@sacregcf.org.

How can my organization initiate a relationship with you?

There are many ways to initiate a relationship with the Foundation. Please reach out to the staff member who best aligns with your interest to schedule time to meet.
