As the end of the year approaches, our fundholders should keep in mind some important information related to growing — and making grants from — their charitable funds at the Sacramento Region Community Foundation or our partner, the Yolo Community Foundation.
Thanks to the foresight of the Junior League of Sacramento, the efforts of committed community leaders, and generous people like you, we have inspired philanthropy in the capital area for 40 years! Join us in celebrating four decades of local giving, share your story, and look to the future of our collective impact.
We specialize in bringing engaged community members together to make a measurable difference in some of this community's toughest issues – from creating a more generous region and fostering a thriving cultural community, to expanding equitable access to higher education and creating a healthy, accessible food system for all.
By establishing charitable funds at the Foundation to support the causes they care about, our fundholders create positive change in the Sacramento region. When local donors partner with the Foundation, they maximize the impact of their philanthropy and become catalysts for improvement in our community.
Thanks to the generosity of our fundholders, the Foundation is the Sacramento region’s largest grantmaker to the nonprofit organizations that serve and enrich our community. We are also proud to partner with those organizations during our annual Big Day of Giving, the 24-hour giving challenge and capacity-building program that has raised over $91 million for local nonprofits over the past eleven years.
The Foundation and our fundholders are committed to helping local students pursue higher education. Offering over 40 scholarship programs – for first-generation college students, veterans, and students interested to studying trades, music, entrepreneurship, and more – our goal is to help the region’s students succeed.
