Amy E. Brown is the Community Impact Manager at the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, where she plays a pivotal role in advancing the Foundation’s community impact initiatives. In this capacity, Amy is responsible for providing strategic support across various facets of community engagement, program research, development, and implementation. She is dedicated to cultivating new supporters, fostering relationships, and expanding the Foundation’s presence and impact throughout the region.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Amy was a tireless advocate for marginalized communities in Denver, Colorado, where she co-founded and served as Executive Director of Black Lives Matter 5280 (BLM5280), Colorado’s only chapter of the global organization. Her leadership in advancing the rights of Black and other marginalized communities earned her the 2021 Compass Award and recognition as a 2022 Transformative Leader for Change. She was also recognized as a Black Woman in Leadership for her work in co-founding BLM5280.
Amy’s career also includes a role as Director of Strategic Partnerships for Service Employees International Union Local 105, one of the largest labor unions in the world, where she worked to support underrepresented laborers in their fight for fair working conditions and compensation. Additionally, Amy contributed to addressing health inequities at the Foundation for Sustainable Urban Communities, furthering her commitment to social justice and equity for underrepresented communities in Denver. Graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnic Studies from California State University, Sacramento (CSUS), Amy continues to leverage her educational background and leadership experience to create lasting, positive change in her community. An avid lover of cooking, Amy loves spending time with her daughter, her puppy, and all things Beyoncé.
