“Well, it’s a no-brainer to recommend the community foundation!”
That’s what Babs Sandeen, a longtime community leader and fundholder, said after referring a new charitable fund in 2024. Each year, referrals from our fundholders are one of the top ways new fundholders learn about the Sacramento Region Community Foundation and our affiliate, Yolo Community Foundation.
“We love this because it’s a sign that we’re providing great service and our fundholders see the value of investing in an organization that reinvests right back into their community,” says Chelsea Fahr, our Senior Director of Philanthropy.
To show our appreciation, we’ve started making small grants to nonprofits of the referrer’s choice. Babs, for example, chose to support the ongoing work of Yolo Community Foundation, where she once served as a leader.
“It’s a small token of gratitude for inspiring others in your life to think about giving back,” Chelsea says.
