Kristin is a partner at Downey Brand LLP, where she advises clients about a variety of wealth transfer and tax planning strategies, including business succession and charitable giving. Her practice also includes counseling nonprofits and private foundations. She has been recognized for her pro bono work and serves as Downey Brand LLP’s pro bono partner.
Kristin earned her bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and Political Science from Chico State, and her law degree from McGeorge School of Law, where she returned as an adjunct professor after obtaining her master’s degree in Conflict Resolution from Brandeis University in Boston.
Before she was a lawyer, Kristin spent a good deal of time traveling and not wanting to become a lawyer. She rarely misses a Sunday morning at the farmers market and is always on the hunt for Sacramento’s best taco.
