As co-owner of Nugget Market, Inc., Kate currently serves as the Chief Impact Officer. Kate leads the company’s philanthropic engagement, sustainability program, public affairs, and public relations. For 18 years, she also served as the company’s VP of Marketing and Communications, helping create an extraordinary grocery experience throughout their communities.
For more than 30 years, Kate has been actively involved in Nugget Markets’ communities, serving on numerous nonprofit boards and commissions spanning throughout the Sacramento Valley and foothill region of the Sierras, as well as Marin to Sonoma counties. A former Chair of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation Board of Directors, she currently serves as a Board Member of the Yolo Food Bank, the Government Relations Committee for the National Grocers Association, and several community committees and task forces.
The family-owned and operated grocer has 16 stores located in the Greater Sacramento Valley region, Marin County and Sonoma Valley and has been serving our region since 1926. Known for its dynamic culture of fun, family, supportive camaraderie, and servant leadership, it has been recognized on FORTUNE Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” list for 17 consecutive years.
Kate was named the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce’s 2022 Businesswoman of the Year.
She is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum, Class XIV, and an alumna of UC Berkeley. She is married and has three grown children and four grandchildren.
