The Sacramento Region Community Foundation now offers the Community Scholarship for local students pursuing education after high school. Whether a student is headed to a 2-year community college, a 4-year university, or trade school, they can now apply for support to help offset costs of attendance or educational expenses.
What makes this scholarship special is that it’s powered by collective generosity. The Community Scholarship brings together gifts of all sizes to create a shared, high‑impact resource for local students. It offers donors a powerful alternative to opening their own scholarship fund, allowing them to make a meaningful, personal investment in students’ futures while being part of a larger, community‑driven effort that amplifies their impact.
This is truly a scholarship from our community, for our community.
If you’re interested in making a gift of any size, you can do so through it’s secure giving page on our donation portal (or by making a recommendation through the donor portal, if you have a Donor Advised Fund with us). If you know a student who could benefit, discover application details.
This new scholarship joins more than 40 others opened by generous fundholders across our region.
If you’d like to get even more involved, we also recruit volunteer evaluators to help read and score applications. It’s a small time commitment and a powerful way to directly support a student’s future. And, as always, if you’ve ever thought about opening your own charitable fund, I’d be glad to connect with you to explore what that could look like.
