A Note on Names

When referencing the grant, please use our full name on first reference: Sacramento Region Community Foundation. How do I send an acknowledgement letter for this grant?

The majority of the grants we disburse are directed by donors who have established charitable funds with us to facilitate their charitable giving. These charitable funds enable people, families, and businesses to take advantage of our back office, research and due diligence services. The donors then recommend grants to nonprofits from their charitable funds, and we distribute the grants according to our policies.

We encourage you to thank representatives behind the grant by sending a letter addressed to the fund named in your award letter to our office.

[Fund name, if not anonymous]
Sacramento Region Community Foundation
955 University Avenue, Suite A
Sacramento, CA 95825

Please do not include a tax acknowledgement as the donor received one when they contributed to the charitable fund.

Can I obtain the contact information for the donor to send an acknowledgement directly?

The Sacramento Region Community Foundation is only able to provide contact information at the request of the donor. The donor’s contact information will be included in the grant award letter if the donor has requested it to be shared.

What is the process to access grants disbursed via Ramp?

We occasionally use a vendor called Ramp to disburse grants via ACH (direct deposit) or mailed checks. When we do, in addition to receiving a grant letter from the Sacramento Region Community Foundation with the details of the award, Ramp will email your designated contact to notify them that payment has been issued, referencing “Sacramento Region Comm. Foundation” and the same grant number mentioned in the grant letter. Please contact our Grants Associate, Rosita Patterson, at rosita@sacregcf.org with any questions.

Who should I contact with questions?

Please contact our Grants Associate, Rosita Patterson, at rosita@sacregcf.org with any questions about your award.

    About Our Work

Like other community foundations across the country and around the world, the Sacramento Region Community Foundation enables those with philanthropic interests to easily and effectively support issues they care about — immediately, or through their will. Donors can establish charitable funds by contributing a variety of assets and may recommend grants — in their names, if they choose — to nonprofits they want to support.

The Foundation promotes philanthropy that is visionary, diverse, inclusive, and strategic. Through its community leadership, the Foundation strengthens the region by partnering to address the underlying causes of difficult challenges. The most visible of the Foundation’s programs is Big Day of Giving, which is part of its effort to foster philanthropy and strengthen nonprofit capacity. Since Big Day of Giving’s launch in 2013, the annual giving day has generated more than $117 million for hundreds of area nonprofits.
