With decades of investment and impact expertise, we provide a low-cost, simple alternative to establishing a private foundation — and you can rest assured your charitable investments stay local. Plus, we can offer you anonymity, if desired. Here are the basics:

  • You can open your charitable fund with a variety of assets in addition to cash gifts, including stocks, real estate, and other complex assets.
  • Gifts to your charitable fund will receive maximum tax benefits, because the Sacramento Region Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
  • Legacy Funds have no minimum gift requirement, making it easy to plant the seeds for future giving. Most other charitable funds can be opened with a minimum of $10,000 and scholarships start at $25,000.

If you want to grow your charitable impact immediately at any level, our Impact Fund is a flexible option with no minimum gift. Every contribution to the Impact Fund helps build a more just and vibrant Sacramento region, empowering our expert staff to direct resources where they’re needed most.
