Education in Del Paso Heights
Education is one of the most powerful tools we have to create opportunity. In Del Paso Heights, the Sacramento Region Community Foundation is investing in young people and their families by expanding access to quality education — and strengthening resources to help them thrive.

Improve Your Tomorrow
Centered in Community
When young people succeed in school, their opportunities grow, their confidence builds, and their futures open. But for too many in Sacramento’s Del Paso Heights neighborhood, systemic barriers make it difficult to access the same quality of education available in other parts of our region.
Because education and well-being are deeply connected, we’re also investing in mental health resources for Del Paso Heights youth — offering critical supports to help young people learn, lead, and flourish. Learn how.

What We’re Doing
In Del Paso Heights, we’re working alongside trusted community partners to help young people and their families reach their full potential.
In 2025 alone, the Foundation has awarded more than $300,000 in grants to support 16 local organizations — strengthening education, expanding opportunities, and ensuring youth have mental health resources and supportive environments.
Together, these grants:
Help more students access the resources they need to succeed in school and life.
Create a sense of belonging for young people in their schools and neighborhoods.

Why It Matters
Del Paso Heights is home to talented young people with boundless potential. Yet many face barriers that limit access to quality education and the supportive services that make learning possible. Without change, these inequities can reinforce cycles of disadvantage that last generations.
By centering education — and ensuring that students also have the mental health resources they need to succeed — we are working to strengthen families, improve lifelong health, and build a more equitable future for our entire region.
How We Got Here
This work builds on years of listening, learning, and partnership. It’s informed by:
- Community guidance from young people, families, and local leaders who know what their neighborhoods need.
- Funding partnerships that provide both immediate support and long-term stability.
- Collaborative approaches that strengthen community infrastructure and lay the foundation for collective impact.
This is more than program support. It’s about building an ecosystem where every student in Del Paso Heights can learn, grow, and thrive.

“Having additional therapy at The Grove, thanks to this funding from the Foundation, is paving the way for youth to build emotional intelligence and develop the skills they need to face life’s challenges.”
