We are thrilled to share that Naomi Wilson has been named the Sacramento Region Community Foundation’s Chief Financial Officer. A key member of our team since joining as Controller last year, Naomi served as Interim Chief Financial Officer since December. She oversees all aspects of our financial strategy, investments, and compliance to advance our philanthropic leadership in the Sacramento region.
“Naomi is an excellent leader, and her promotion is a testament to her expertise and unwavering commitment to our mission,” said Kerry Wood, our chief executive. “Under her stewardship, I am confident our financial and investment strategies will continue to thrive.”
The primary provider of philanthropic services to people, families, and businesses in the capital area, the Sacramento Region Community Foundation annually distributes millions of dollars in grants and scholarships to nonprofits and students. In all, we manage over $250 million in philanthropic assets for the region.
“It is an honor to accept the Chief Financial Officer position and continue the Foundation’s 40-year legacy of inspiring philanthropy in our region,” Naomi said. “And it’s a privilege to work with such a talented and dedicated team.”
Prior to joining the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, Naomi served for seven years as Finance Director for the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera. She also worked in accounting for local agricultural and transportation companies and provided consulting services in nonprofit and forensic accounting to area firms.
Naomi participates as a member of the Fiscal & Administrative Officers Group, an association for community foundation finance professionals, and Financial Executives International. In 2021, the Sacramento Business Journal recognized her as one of Sacramento’s “40 Under 40.”
