I’m honored to join the Sacramento Region Community Foundation as Chief Impact Officer and to continue serving a community that cares so deeply about helping neighbors thrive.
If you look at my biography, you’ll see that for the past seven years, I had the privilege of leading the Yolo Community Foundation, which is administered by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation and continues to be a close partner in serving the greater capital region. During that time, I worked across many areas of philanthropy, building relationships with caring neighbors and supporting nonprofit programs. Those experiences strengthened my commitment to helping good people accomplish good work in our community.
That commitment continues in this new role, and I’m excited by the opportunity to serve communities across a broader region. As Chief Impact Officer, it is truly a privilege to focus on providing funding, training, and other support to local nonprofits, which play such an important role in caring for our communities. I love helping the people at organizations that, in turn, help our neighbors every day.
One of the things that excites me most about this role is the opportunity to be part of the team behind Big Day of Giving. I love the energy of the day and the feeling of being connected to something bigger than any one organization. Our whole region comes together to support the causes they care about, creating a powerful sense of connection and shared purpose.
I’m also inspired by the Foundation’s focus on health equity, because health touches so many parts of our lives. When our bodies are not healthy, it’s hard to learn, work, and thrive. At the same time, many aspects of daily life influence our health. That’s why improving health and well-being is so important to building strong, resilient communities, and why I’m eager to work alongside our partners to expand food access in Yolo County, support educational success and youth mental health in Sacramento’s Del Paso Heights, and help nonprofits support the health and well-being of their communities throughout the capital region through programs like Big Day of Giving and Cultivate.
As I step into this role, I’m eager to keep learning about the greater Sacramento region and the people who make it strong. I’m also looking forward to discovering even more of the places and people that make this region special (including your favorite lunch spots throughout the region!).
In the weeks and months ahead, I look forward to working with the Foundation’s talented team, connecting with community leaders, and learning from the nonprofit partners who serve our neighbors every day. In short: I’m excited to be here.
