This fund is established to honor and build upon the ideas and values promoted by Dr. Paul E. Heckman. His belief in the power of democratic change in schools and communities is the foundation for the activities this fund sponsors.
Resources will continue to foster local (indigenous) change (invention) in schools and communities. This was the core focus of Dr. Heckman’s work. This involves educators and community members coming together to identify challenges and resources for what Dr. Heckman described as, not just reform, but school and community transformation.
