Scott Syphax is the CEO of Syphax Strategic Inc., a full-service management consulting and business development firm focused on the real estate development, financial services, and healthcare sectors. Previously, Mr. Syphax was the Chairman & CEO of The Nehemiah Companies, a Sacramento, California-based social enterprise and real estate development firm where he managed the Nehemiah Community Reinvestment Fund, which has leveraged over $880 million in projects to spur development in underserved communities and provided more than $1.5 billion in downpayment assistance funding to help over 325,000 families achieve their dream of homeownership. During Mr. Syphax’s tenure as CEO, his work has been studied by organizations as diverse as the Milken Institute, the U.S. Conference of Mayors and BridgeSpan Group for Nehemiah’s achievements in social innovation and asset development in low-income communities.
Syphax serves on the boards of the ProAssurance Corporation, MLK365, Nehemiah Community Foundation and the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. Scott is the founder of the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program (NELP) which trains and coaches under-represented millennial professionals for C-suite leadership positions as well as civic leadership opportunities through board service. In its 13th year, the NELP program has graduated over 200 fellows currently serving on over 300 private business, non-profit, and governmental boards and commissions throughout the United States. Scott is also the Emmy award-winning Executive Producer, Head Writer and Host of Studio Sacramento, the Capitol region’s public affairs program of record broadcast on PBS – KVIE 6 Public Television.
