The Sacramento Region Community Foundation accomplished a great deal in 2024; we reached significant milestones, found new and innovative ways to connect to our community, built new relationships with generous donors in our region, and strengthened existing ones.
We are proud to share our 2024 Year in Review, a look back on our assets, gifts, grants, and the key statistics that defined the year — made possible thanks to the generosity of people like you, our fundholders, and partners.
HIGHLIGHTS
In 2024, thanks to the support of our fundholders, key stakeholders, and community partners, we:
Awarded
over $23 million in scholarships and grants.
Established
42 charitable funds to support donor-driven philanthropy.
Processed
more than 57,000 gift and grant transactions.

Amplified
local voices and connections through focus groups, conferences, site visits, and speaking, performing, and volunteering at community events. Fostering strong, trusting collaborations helps ensure that local philanthropy can create lasting change.
These connections helped us establish our new focus on health equity. Through strong partnerships, we’re building a healthier, more equitable region by tackling key challenges:
- Improving mental health for local youth.
- Increasing food access in Yolo County.
- Supporting students to pursue education.
If you’d like to support this work, consider making a gift to our Impact Fund and joining our Impact Collaborative.
Strengthened
our community by addressing fundraising disparities affecting nonprofit leaders of color through Cultivate.
By fostering community connection and empowering over 60 participants, the Foundations tracked a 74% increase in gifts during Big Day of Giving to these organizations.

Generated
$13,230,760 for 826 nonprofits during Big Day of Giving.
Thanks to the generosity of the community and the dedication of nonprofit leaders, local organizations have now raised more than $100 million through Big Day of Giving since it began in 2013.
Hosted
our inaugural Philanthropy Summit — a day of learning, collaboration, and celebration. Fundholders, nonprofit leaders, business partners, and volunteers connected over shared goals, explored ways to strengthen the social impact sector, and celebrated collective efforts to build a more vibrant, equitable region.
In all, we 293 people attended and had access to 16 speakers across nine education sessions, as well as a keynote speech, the National Philanthropy Day award ceremony, and the Celebration of Generosity mixer.

Thanks to gifts and grants made by our generous fundholders, the Sacramento Region Community Foundation was a leading grantmaker in the region for 2024. Their contributions made a significant impact throughout the capital area — El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo counties — by supporting the work of organizations and community partners who enrich our region every day.
