Local nonprofits can now register to participate in Big Day of Giving 2026, our region’s annual celebration of generosity that brings people together to support the causes shaping a stronger Sacramento area and beyond.
Big Day of Giving reflects the best of our community. Hosted on our year-round giving platform, GivingEdge, and powered by hundreds of local nonprofits and thousands of people who choose to give where they live, the giving day shows what’s possible when generosity is shared. That collective spirit has driven meaningful impact: Since 2013, donors have given more than $117 million to over 850 nonprofits during Big Day of Giving.
Building on that momentum, Big Day of Giving 2026 — which will be held Thursday, May 6 — introduces several enhancements to support participating nonprofits. Expanded resources focus on campaign planning, peer-to-peer fundraising, matching funds, and using GivingEdge effectively, and nonprofits can register to attend two in-person Prep Days in March to connect, ask questions, and share ideas.
By supporting local nonprofits as they raise funds and advance their missions, Big Day of Giving creates a powerful moment of collective action, with impact that reaches every corner of our region throughout the year.
A program of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation since its inception, Big Day of Giving is aligned with our commitment to inspire philanthropy throughout the capital area. This year’s giving day is supported by Western Health Advantage, Nugget Markets, the Athletics, and other generous partners whose leadership helps make this community-wide effort possible. Businesses and organizations interested in supporting Big Day of Giving are invited to learn more about sponsorship opportunities.
